Shraddha Satwik Shelter Home

We are glad to introduce ourselves as a Charity Service provider named as Shraddha Foundation, a registered Charitable Trust, dedicated to providing services in the fields of Cancer Care, Education and Rural Empowerment for more than two decades. It is registered with Charity Commissioner Maharashtra, Mumbai bearing Regn. No. E-21564 (Mumbai), PAN No. AAETS1171Q and also obtained IT Exemption Certificate under Section 80-G of the I.T. Act. It’s registered office at G/205, Hrushikesh Apna Ghar Housing Society, Swami Samarth Nagar, Andheri (W), Mumbai-400053 and working office at 618, Laxmi Plaza, New Link Road, Andheri (West), Mumbai-400053. We have four Shelter Homes in Mumbai with capacity for accommodating 160 persons including 70 beds for patients.

Now we have extended our services to our own State Odisha and inaugurated a Shelter Home “Shraddha Satwik” for Cancer patients at AIIMS Nagar, Bhubaneswar on 6th August’2021 with a capacity for accommodating 70 persons including 30 beds for patients. We are enclosing herewith our Brochure for your kind reference. Our main aim is to help the poor & underprivileged people who come from the lower strata of the society and require help, compassion and support.

 A.  Present Activities in Cancer Care:

1.  Assistance in Hospital:  We are privileged to be associated with Tata Memorial Hospital having been provided a ‘Help Desk’ at their premises and AIIMS Hospital, Bhubaneswar. Our volunteers and social workers regularly assist the patients for Registration, investigation, treatment, medicines, blood, platelets, finance and sometimes to extent of helping in funeral rites.  

2.  Shelter Homes for Cancer patients and their relatives: We have four Shelter Homes at present, located in the following places at Mumbai & Bhubaneswar :

i)   Lucky Star Shelter Home at Parel

ii)  Pushpanjali Shelter Home at Chembur

iii) Shraddha Vihar & Shraddha Vibhuti Shelter Home at Kharghar

iv) Shraddha Satwik Shelter Home at Aiims Nagar, Bhubaneswar

We accommodate more than 160 patients & their relatives in our Mumbai based shelter homes. Most of the Patients are coming from Odisha, Bengal & Eastern region of India. Many Patients visit TATA Memorial Cancer Hospital and AIIMS Hospital for better health care. Shraddha Foundation has been serving these patients for last two decades, providing medical help and highly subsidized lodging & boarding at our Shelter Homes. The shelter home provides them basic amenities and recreations. In Mumbai we have been providing free meals comprising breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner on the sponsorship of Centrum Foundation since last three years.

 3.  Cancer Awareness & Detection Camps: We conduct camps regularly for slums, villages and housing societies for detection as well as creating awareness for cancer prevention.

 4.  Quit Tobacco Campaign: Through audio visual presentations, lectures, props and physical caricatures, we are conducting the campaign in Schools, Colleges and factories for inculcating habits for quitting tobacco and creating awareness regarding ill effects of tobacco   consumption. This program is continuing for last 7 years at Mumbai/Maharashtra. We also propose to carry on similar activities in the state of Odisha at regular interval. 

5.  Counseling: Our volunteers and social workers regularly counsel the patients and their relatives for coping up with the disease. We collaborate with the Hospitals and look after counseling services in specific wards.

 6.   Financial Assistance: Shraddha provides possible financial assistance to very needy, underprivileged cancer patients in the Hospital. We also guide and help patients to avail financial assistance/donations from other donors & Charitable Trusts/Establishments.   

B.  The Proposal:

Our Bhubaneswar unit is all set for providing shelter home facilities for more than 70 persons including 30 Beds for needy and underprivileged Cancer patients and thus infrastructures facilities viz. 30 beds and other accessories have already been put in Shelter Home.

We have taken the premises for Shelter Home on lease rent and the same is spacious enough to accommodate more than 70 persons. Our Shelter home has commenced operations and the way requests/applications are flowing in, shortly we will be working on optimum utilization.

It is pertinent to note here that we provide all facilities viz. accommodation, foods, medicinal services, logistic services, volunteer services, etc. at a minimal cost of Rs.100/- per day per person.  We also accommodate very poor patients at a basic rate of Rs.50/- per day and in many cases, the same is free as the patients express their inability to pay.

Since we are a Charity Organization and determined to provide services to the poorest of the poor, we approach organizations, individuals and Corporates to donate us for expenses incurred to extend services to these social strata of our society.

We need funds in donations for our work. Our charity mostly depends upon donations. We are glad to approach you for your kindheartedness to consider our following requirements at least for three years.

Requirement for daily dry Provisions.

Provision materials : Groceries, Spices, Vegetables, Breads, Snacks, Milk, Paneer and Curd etc.

Total Average Cost : 70 x Rs. 90 x 30 days = Rs. 1,89,000/- per month 

Please note the above amount in average is excluding infrastructure cost which will be bear by us. It includes salary/wages of cook, helper, cooking gas, water & electricity charges etc. as required for this purpose.

• Bills/vouchers will be submitted monthly on actual purchases as per consumption of meals for the total capacity of patients/attendants during the month.

• A ) Approx. amount to be incurred Rs.1.89 Lakh per month or actual expenses whichever is lower.
• (Tenure of Donation: 3 years) 

B) Shelter Home Rentals: Rent Per Month  : Rs.  45,000/-  (Tenure of Donation  : 3 years )

Total Expenses (A +B) = Rs. 2,34,000/- per month

Total Project Cost = Rs. 2,34,000 * 36 months = Rs. 84,24,000
